Sends data to SPC data programsEliminate data collection errors. The third generation Starrett 733, 749, 756 digital micrometer, 3754 height gage, or Starrett 2600 digital indicator gage is connected to this Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable gage interface using the standard connector on the gage. Connecting the Advanced systems and Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB gage interface to a computer will allow the ASDQMS SmartCable USB and Starrett gage to be detected as a COM port (or virtual Com Port) and Send data to communication and terminal emulation programs (i.e. HyperTerminal) or any SPC data collection software program. The output of the Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable USB gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 COM port signal and the USB connection supplies power to the SmartCable gage interface.
Note:This ASDQMS SmartCable USB will NOT Send data directly to a spreadsheet program such as Excel without using a separate software wedge program. Please see SmartCable Keyboard (600-104-KB-USB) if you want to Send data directly to Excel or Explorer based SPC programs.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:
- Pressing the Send button on the ASDQMS SmartCable USB gage interface
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
- Pressing the Send button on the gage (if it has one)
- Sending a gage read command from the host computer to the SmartCable USB
