Designed for diversified business IT environments, the TVS-872XU 8-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP features an 8th Generation Intel Core processor, a Mellanox ConnectX-4 Lx 10GbE controller, and PCIe expansion for 25GbE / 40 GbE connectivity to boost intensive large file sharing, heavily-loaded backups, or virtualization applications. PCIe expandability also allows for installing graphics cards to empower AI workflows and video transcoding, and the UHD 4K HDMI 2.0 output can display surveillance videos on a monitor or TV to improve surveillance management. The TVS-872XU is powered by a 3.6 GHz Intel Core i3-8100 Quad-Core processor and 4GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM, which can be upgraded to 64GB, using one 16GB module in each of the four DIMM slots. Network connectivity is achieved using the four RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ SmartNIC ports, with ISER support, the latter of which helps to further support accelerate large file sharing and intensive data transfer. This NAS also supports JBOD, Single, and a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60, each of which offer data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. This 8-bay enclosure has the ability to natively house 3.5" SATA III and SATA II hard drives, as well as 2.5" hard drives and SSDs. Using both 10GbE ports, the TVS-872XU delivers read speeds of up to 2152 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1211 MB/s. When working with both 10GbE ports and an encrypted volume, read speeds reach up to 2153 MB/s and write speeds max out around 944 MB/s. Using the external two 10 GB/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C ports and four 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports, this QNAP NAS can be connected to other QNAP devices, as well as other external drives and displays. Additionally, the TVS-872XU is validated with FIPS 140-2 AES 256-bit encryption, helping to prevent sensitive business data from unauthorized access and breaches. Using QNAP's tiered storage functionality, storage efficiency is optimized across SATA SSDs and SATA HDDs. Frequently-used "hot" data is stored on high-performance SSD tiers, while less-accessed "cold" data is kept on higher-capacity hard drives. SSDs can also be used as a cache to accelerate IOPS performance and reduce latency for storage volumes. The QNAP TVS-872XU 8-Bay NAS Enclosure operates on 100-240. It includes two Ethernet cables, a power cord, 32 flat head screws for 3.5" drives, and 24 flat head screws for 2.5" drives.
