The WGF Series enable the installation of pre-terminated or bundled fiber optic cables into a shielded enclosure or SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) while maintaining the enclosure's radio frequency isolation integrity. The units feature a patent protected design with removable center plug. Removing the plugs during installation enables connectorized fiber optic cables, or fiber bundles to be inserted into cable-sized slots. When the plug is then installed the units filter RF emissions thus preserving the enclosures shielding characteristics. The WGF series has 4, 6, or 12 bores that can accept numerous types of pre-assembled fiber optic cables with attached connectors. The WGF-12, has 12 bores and a 27 GHz cutoff; the WGF-6 has 6 bores and a 27 GHz cutoff; the WGF-461 has 6 bores and provides over 100 dB attenuation for frequencies up to 40 GHz compliant with MIL-STD-461; the WGF-4 has 4 bores and a 18.5 GHz cutoff; the WGF-2550 has 6 bores sized to fit openings previously made for DB-25 connectors and has a 31.4 GHz cutoff. The WEB and WET extension tubes allow for easier pass-through of fiber through thick walls and penetrations. WEB tubes are made of brass and have external threads that match the WGF-6, WGF-461 and WGF-4. They require a WCN-6 Waveguide Coupling Nut to attach them to the Waveguide filter. The WET tubes are made of PVC and are internally threaded. These attach directly to the Waveguide filters without the need for a separate coupling nut. The WET-18-A fits the WGF-6, WGF-461 and WGF-4. The WET-18-B fits the WGF-12.The WGN-6 is a nut for the WGF-6, WGF-461 and WGF-4. The WGN-12 is a nut for the WGF-12. The WCN-6 is a brass coupling nut for use with a WEB brass Waveguide Extension Tube (WEB-6, WEB12).Occasionally the wall of the shielded enclosure, SCIF or chamber that needs to be penetrated is thicker than the calculated length of the Waveguide filter. This length limitation has been overcome with the combination of a brass Waveguide extension tube and a coupling nut. This solution works perfectly and can accommodate even very thick walls, however it does create a protrusion on either side of the wall that could be at best unsightly and at worst a safety hazard. The WGN-6 solves this problem by providing an extension solution that maintains the mathematically calculated dimensions of the Waveguide while creating a flush mounting solution. The WEN-6 extends the length of a FiberPlex Waveguide, creates a clean flush-mount solution and maintains simplicity of the installation.
