Features of the 3-in-1 Tracer/Toner/Cable Tester:
- It is a professional tool used to test and troubleshoot RJ45, RJ11, and BNC cables. It can also be used to trace and identify individual wires within a wire bundle or group and can provide talk testing functionality between telephone units.
- The tester is composed of two main units: the Tone Generator/Cable Tester and the Amplifier Probe with sensing tip. Each unit is constructed of plastic with the edges covered in rubber to improve grip. Each unit is powered by a 9-volt battery and two batteries are included in the packaging.
- The Tone Generator/Cable Tester is the main testing unit and is used to test cable continuity for Coaxial cables, RJ45 and RJ11 cables, and for individual wires using the attached alligator clips. A detachable Remote Terminator is used for RJ45 and RJ11 cables to provide the continuity link at the remote end of the cable.
- The Tone Generator portion of the tester is used to send a tone down an attached cable. The Amplifier Probe is then used at the other end to test individual cables in a bundle or group to find the one with the tone, thus identifying the cable. The Amplifier Probe can also be used at various points along a cable length to locate a break in the cable.
- In Talk Batt mode, the tester provides the power and closes a telephone circuit to allow the phones to be tested for operation and the wires to be tested for continuity and clarity.
- The tester has an auto-off functionality that kicks in after 20 seconds of non-use in all modes except the Toner and Talks Batt mode. These latter two modes will remain on without activity for 30 minutes before the tester automatically shuts down.
Features of the Pro Cable Tester:
- This multifunction tester is designed to work with RJ45 and BNC Coax cables. It can test for continuity, open or short circuits, crossed wires, or incorrectly wired split pairs. It can also generate a tone signal for identifying individual cables in bundles or finding the location of a cable break when used with an Amplifier Probe (not included).
- The tester is equipped to give proper test results for RJ45 cables wired for EIA/TIA-568A, EIA/TIA-568B (AT&T-258A), 10BASE-T, and Token Ring. The manual shows proper test results for each type of cable and gives examples of failure indications.
Features of the Coaxial Cable Stripper/Cutter:
- Used by professional cable installers who need to make precise strips on either RG6 and RG59 cables. Simply squeeze the tool to insert the cable, release, and spin it using the extra-large finger hole. Pull out the perfectly prepared cable. Strips 4,8, and 12 mm lengths.
- 3 blades ensure accurate stripping length of each cable section. Built-in hex screws for accurate depth-of-cut adjustment. Preset stripping length of 12 mm (8 mm + 4 mm). Blades may be repositioned to give a 10 mm (6 mm + 4 mm) stripped length.
