Gordon Brush, 900437, 1 x 22 Row Thunderon® and Goat Hair Conductive Short Handle Brush
This conductive brush has Thunderon® and goat hair mixed fill material set within a conductive polypropylene plastic handle. Ideal for cleaning and dusting areas that are sensitive to static electricity where the promotion of corona discharge is required. This high-quality brush has a 1 x 22 row pattern, with a 1-1/4" trim, and a brush face of 3-1/2" x 3/8". The handle is 4" long x 3/8" wide x 1-1/4" high. Thunderon® is a very fine (0.0015" diameter) conductive acrylic fiber that is chemically bonded with copper sulfide. This high-performance fiber will dissipate a charge on any electrically charged surface. The fineness of the fiber lends itself to be used in applications that require non-contact corona discharge on static-charged surfaces. The surface resistivity of Thunderon® is 10²Ω/cm. The goat hair mix adds stiffness to the brush. The plastic handle is conductive with a surface resistivity of 10Ω/cm.
A conductive brush has a surface resistivity range of 10²Ω/cm - 10Ω/cm and is used to remove static buildup from the work surface. It acts as a conduit between the charged surface and the path to ground. Made with fully conductive materials, it serves as an active static eliminator. Use a conductive brush with a wrist strap or another mechanism to provide a path to ground.
Note: Conductive fibers are not recommended for use with unencapsulated electronic microcircuits, as minute pieces of conductive material have been known to cause short circuits.
