Get started with TIG welding is easy with the Eastwood TIG 200 DC welder. Designed for DIY enthusiasts, this compact 200-Amp TIG welder is capable of welding both mild and stainless steel up to 1/4-in. thick without the cost of an AC inverter. Its DC inverter power supply provides output ranging from 10- to 200-Amps, ideal for a wide variety of repair and fabrication projects.
The TIG 200 DC is easy to set up and use. Equipped with power-sensing circuitry, it automatically adjusts to power inputs from 110V to 240V, letting you plug it in almost anywhere. The handheld torch includes an on/off switch to start the arc and a remote foot pedal controls amperages for precise welding control. A high-frequency start guarantees an instant arc strike with no tungsten contamination. Pre-flow and post-flow gas settings are pre-programmed at 0.5 sec (pre) and 5 sec (post) for convenience.
Compact and lightweight (just 18-lbs), the TIG 200 DC is exceptionally portable. It can also work as a stick welder in DC positive/negative mode. Does NOT weld aluminum.
Duty Cycle
The rated Duty cycle refers to the amount of welding that can be done within an amount of time. The Eastwood TIG 200 DC has a duty cycle of 60% at 190 Amps. It is easiest to look at your welding time in blocks of 10 Minutes and the Duty Cycle being a percentage of that 10 Minutes. If welding at 190 Amps with a 60% Duty Cycle, within a 10 Minute block of time you can weld for 6 Minutes with 4 Minutes of cooling for the welder. To increase the duty cycle you can turn down the Amperage Output control. Going above 190 Amps will yield a lower duty cycle.
