Send data to SPC data collection programsUsing a high quality 6-pin connector, this Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable USB gage interface connects the Mahr Federal Maxum III or Maxum Plus digital indicator to a computer and will convert and Send gage data as a COM port (or virtual Com Port) to communication and terminal emulation programs (i.e. HyperTerminal) or any SPC data collection software program.

Note: This SmartCable USB gage interface will NOT Send data directly to a spreadsheet program such as Excel without using a separate software wedge program.

The output of the SmartCable USB is a standard USB 2.0 COM port signal and the USB connection supplies power to the SmartCable USB. The gage cannot obtain power from the SmartCable USB - the gage requires a separate power supply (batteries) of its own.

Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

• Pressing the push button on the SmartCable USB
• Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
• Sending a gage read command from the computer to the SmartCable USB gage interface.

The Mahr Federal Maxum III SmartCable USB gage interface can Send data in several modes: read only, continuous, continuous with delay, disable pushbutton, and others.
