The DCPT-4000 is a driveway alarm kit that is used to detect vehicles only. The transmitter operates on four CR123a batteries (not included on orders outside of the United States) and has 250' of direct burial wire connecting the probe to the exterior case. The probe is buried parallel to the driveway and will detect vehicles passing by within approximately 10-12 feet. The direct burial cable can be run to a tree or post nearby, where the transmitter box is located. When a vehicle drives by, the transmitter will send a signal to the DCR-4000 or RE-4000 Plus receiver up to 1 mile away.
The DCPT-4000 is ideal in locations where there may be deer or other large animals that would cause false signals with a motion detecting system. Also, because the probe is buried underground, it will be the least noticeable of wireless systems. The transmitter is weatherproof and meant for exterior locations.
Note: actual range will vary depending on the environment. This transmitter is only compatible with other 4000 series products.

- Auto-detects moving vehicles - Dakota Alert DCPT-4000 Transmitter comes with a 50-ft direct burial cable and metal-sensing probe. It detects any moving metal vehicles that drives over the probe.
- Offers a wide perimeter monitoring - The metal sensing probe detects passing cars by within 10~12 feet boundary. While the transmitter box can send signals even if the receiver is up to 1 mile away.
- Helps monitor your outdoor perimeter - You can bury the probe next to a driveway or drive-up window and mount the transmitter box on a wooden post. The DCPT-4000 is weatherproof and battery-operated.
- Never sends false alerts - The probe is only capable of detecting metallic vehicles passing over the burial cable. Strong winds or large animals won't trigger the transmitter's alarm.
- Provides an expandable alarm system - If you need to monitor different locations within your property, you can pair 16 DCPT-4000 Transmitters into a single Dakota Alert 4000 receiver.

The probe detects moving metal of up to 10-FT radius. This is equally helpful for businesses and homeowners. You'll know when a customer drives in your shop's parking lot or of incoming garbage trucks.
Compared to other alarm systems, the RE-4k Plus receiver is equipped with one voltage and two relay outputs. It gives you the versatility to connect the wireless receiver to other automation alarm systems, including external sirens and strobe lights. You can program the trigger of the voltage and relay outputs into 1, 5, 15, seconds, or 5 minutes. Each of the sensors can have their own activation time.
