The DCPA-4000 Plus is a driveway alarm kit that is used to detect vehicles only. The transmitter operates on four CR123a batteries (not included in orders outside of the United States) and has 50' of direct burial wire connecting the probe to the exterior case. The probe is buried parallel to the driveway and will detect vehicles passing by within approximately 10-12 feet. The direct burial cable can be run to a tree or post nearby, where the transmitter box is located. When a vehicle drives by, the transmitter will send a signal to the DCR-4000 receiver up to 1 mile away.
The DCPA-4000 is ideal in locations where there may be deer or other large animals that would cause false signals with a motion detecting system. Also, because the probe is buried underground, it will be the least noticeable of wireless systems. The transmitter is weatherproof and meant for exterior locations.
The RE-4k Plus receiver will play one of 16 different tunes so that different zones can be distinguished. It also features two form C relays and a 12v output. The RE-4k Plus receiver plugs into a standard wall outlet and can be placed on a table or mounted on the wall. When the receiver gets a signal from the transmitter, one of 16 different tones will sound for a few seconds. There is also a volume control, allowing you to set the sound to the desired level.
Note: actual range will vary depending on the environment. This transmitter is only compatible with other 4000 series products.
Features with all optional accessories:
- Detects incoming vehicles - The included Dakota Alert DCPT-4000 transmitter comes with 50-ft direct burial cable, which can detect any cars that drive over the metal-detecting probe.
- Informs you of incoming cars - When the probe detects a vehicle, the DCPT-4000 transmitter will wirelessly send an alarm signal to its paired RE-4k Plus receiver. The receiver will then emit a loud alert tone.
- Can be connected to other alarm systems - The RE-4k Plus receiver has one 12V DC and two Form C relay outputs that can be linked with a strobe light, external siren or other automation alarm system.
- Offers an expandable alarm system - The DCPA-4K-Plus Kit is also compatible with DCMT-4000, DCPT-4000, or DCHT-4000 transmitters. You can add up to 16 Dakota Alert 4000 transmitters on this system!

The probe detects moving metal of up to 10-FT radius. This is equally helpful for businesses and homeowners. You'll know when a customer drives in your shop's parking lot or of incoming garbage trucks.
Compared to other alarm systems, the RE-4k Plus receiver is equipped with one voltage and two relay outputs. It gives you the versatility to connect the wireless receiver to other automation alarm systems, including external sirens and strobe lights. You can program the trigger of the voltage and relay outputs into 1, 5, 15, seconds, or 5 minutes. Each of the sensors can have their own activation time.
