The Mahr Federal uMaxum or uMaxum XL Digital Indicator is connected to the SmartCable™ USB gage interface using the standard 7-pin connector. This SmartCable™ USB gage interface connects the Mahr Federal Digital Indicator to the USB port on the computer. This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB will allow the Mahr Federal uMaxum or uMaxum XL digital indicator or uDimension Air hand held air gage to be detected as a COM port (or virtual Com Port) and send inspection data to communication and terminal emulation programs (i.e. HyperTerminal) or any SPC data collection software program.
The output of the SmartCable™ USB gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 COM port signal and the USB connection provides power to the interface. The Mahr Federal uMaxum or uMaxum XL Digital Indicator cannot obtain power from the SmartCable™ USB-the gage requires a separate power supply (batteries) of its own.
