Send data directly to Excel - No Software Wedge Required.This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Z-Mike 1200 or 4000 Series Laser BenchMike to a computer and sends data to Excel or other Explorer based SPC programs. Connects the Z-Mike 1200 / 4000 Series Laser BenchMike to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin male cable connector - no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the SmartCable USB gage interface to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or explorer based SPC program - no complicated software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the Z-Mike 1200 or 4000 Series Laser BenchMike Laser readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates SPC data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
- Pressing the send, print or enter button on the Z-Mike 1200 / 4000 Series Laser BenchMike, if it has one
- Pressing the button on the SmartCable Keyboard
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. The communication parameters can be changed and reconfigured per requirements for both the SmartCable and the Z-Mike 1200 / 4000 Series Laser BenchMike. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Z-Mike Laser BenchMike. Make sure both the SmartCable and Z-Mike Laser BenchMike are set to the same values. Refer to the Z-Mike Laser BenchMike user manual for more information on external communication.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
