Send data directly to Excel - No Software Wedge Required.The Scientech ZSP Precision Pharmaceutical Electronic Balance is designed for pharmacy compounding and pill counting. Connect the Scientech Pharmaceutical Electronic Balance to a computer using this Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface. This SmartCable connects directly the Scientech Electronic Balance using a 9-pin male cable connector - no additional cables required.
Never again struggle with when your software updates. Our Keyboard interface always works even when operating or SPC software is updated. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable USB Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Scientech Pharmaceutical Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
The SmartCable Keyboard will make the Scientech Precision Electronic Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC software programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
- Pressing the SEND button on the Scientech Electronic Balance
- Pressing the button on the SmartCable Keyboard
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
Note: This Scientech ZSP Electronic Balance can send data either by pressing the SEND button on the balance or using request commands built into the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. This is a user defined operation using the Scientech Balance RS232 interface configuration.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable USB gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Scientech Electronic Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable and Scientech Pharmaceutical Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the Scientech Precision Electronic Balance setup and operating procedures for more information on external communication. Six foot standard cable length.
