Send data directly to Excel - No Software Wedge Required.This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Rice Lake TC or TP Compact Electronic Balance to a computer and sends real-time data to Excel or other spreadsheet programs. Connects the Rice Lake Compact Electronic Balance to the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 5-pin DIN style cable connector- no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Rice Lake TC/TP Compact Electronic Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send real-time data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or Explorer based SPC program - no complicated software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the Rice Lake TC or TP Compact Electronic Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
- Pressing the Memory key on the Rice Lake TC or TP Compact Electronic Balance
- Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
A detailed operation manual is included with this ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Rice Lake Compact Electronic Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable gage interface and Rice Lake Compact Electronic Balanceare set to the same communication values. Refer to the Rice Lake TC or TP Compact Electronic Balance operation manual and RS-232 Installation Manual for more information on external serial communication.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable Keyboard. This Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
