Send data directly to Excel - No Software Wedge RequiredThe Advanced Systems and Designs (ASDQMS) gage interface with keyboard output sends data directly to Microsoft Excel, Explorer-based SPC programs, or other spreadsheet programs without using complicated software wedges. This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Metronics Gage-Chek 200 Series Geometric Readout to a computer. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface attaches the Metronics Gage-Chek to the SmartCable Keyboard using a 9-pin female cable connector - no additional cables required. This SmartCable gage interface allows the user to output up to five (5) fields in Excel with one push of a button. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Metronics Gage Check to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the Metronics 200 Series Gage-Chek digital readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered from the Metronics Gage-Chek by any of the following:
- Pressing the push button on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
- Pressing the print / send button (or operator pre-set "soft keys") on the Metronics Gage-Chek 200
This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, or multiple TABs followed by CR. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable gage interface.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Metronics Gage-Chek 200. Make sure both the SmartCable and Metronics 200 Series Gage-Chek are set to the same values. Refer to the Metronics Gage-Chek 200 Series Geometric Readout user manual for more information on external communication. Six foot standard cable length.
