Send data directly to Excel - No Software Wedge Required.This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Mettler Toledo PG-S Precision Balance to a computer. Connects the Mettler Toledo PG-S Precision Balance to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin male cable connector - no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the SmartCable to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the Mettler Toledo PG-S Precision Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
- Pressing the send button on the Mettler Toledo PG-S Precision Balance, if it has one
- Pressing the button on the SmartCable Keyboard
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable USB gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. The communication parameters can be changed and reconfigured per requirements for both the SmartCable and the Mettler Toledo PG-S Precision Balance. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Mettler Toledo Precision Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable and Mettler Precision Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the Mettler Toledo PG-S Precision Balance user manual for more information on external communication.
