Send data directly to Excel - No Software Wedge RequiredThe ASDQMS - Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface can capture the accuracy of the Mettler Toledo XSE Electronic Balance in your computer data collection system.
The Mettler Toledo Excellence Series Analytical Balance is connected to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin male cable connector. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer allows the Mettler Toledo XSE Analytical Balance to be identified as a keyboard device.
This ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the Mettler Toledo XSE Series Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard to eliminate data collection errors. To collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC program, just select the cell where you want the data to appear and trigger the reading.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
- Pressing the PRINT button on the Mettler Toledo Excellence Balance
- Pressing the button on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
A detailed operation manual is included with this ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet such as, CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. The LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable gage interface.
At the factory, Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Mettler Toledo XSE Excellence Analytical Balance. The SmartCable Keyboard and Mettler Toledo XSE Excellence Analytical Balance must be set to the same values for communication to occur. Refer to the Mettler Toledo XSE Model Excellence Analytical Balance operating instructions and standard interface command set for additional information on external communication.
