This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Mettler Toledo PR/RS Precision Balance to a computer. Connects the Mettler Toledo PR/RS Precision Balance to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin male cable connector connector to the LC-RS9 CAN bus adapter. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the SmartCable to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the Mettler Toledo PR/RS Precision Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
- Pressing the data send button on the Mettler Toledo PR/RS Precision Balance
- Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable USB gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. Six foot standard cable length.
A detailed operation manual is included with this ADSQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Mettler Toledo LC-RS9 CAN bus adapter. Make sure both the SmartCable and Mettler Toledo PR/RS Precision Balance and LC-RS9 CAN bus adapter are set to the same values. Refer to the Mettler Toledo LC-RS9 operating instructions for more information on external RS232 communication.
