Send data directly to Excel - No Software Wedge RequiredThe Advanced Systems and Designs (ASDQMS) gage interface with keyboard output sends data directly to Microsoft Excel, Explorer-based SPC programs, or SPC Data collection programs without using complicated software wedges. This Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable USB Keyboard, single gage interface, connects the Marposs E4N Electronic Gage Amplifier to a computer. Connects the Marposs E4N Electronic Gage Amplifier to the SmartCable Keyboard using a DB9 male cable connector - no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge will allow the SmartCable gage interface to be identified as a keyboard device that can send keystroke data to any application - no complicated software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the Marposs E4N digital readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or your SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
- Pressing the SEND button on the Marposs E4N Electronic Gage Amplifier
- Pressing the pushbutton on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
The upper and lower tolerance limits can also be sent from the Marposs E4N Columns fitted with a local programming module. See the Marposs E4N Electronic Gage Amplifier user manual for more information on how to use this feature.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. The communication parameters can be changed and reconfigured per requirements for both the SmartCable and the Marposs E4N Electronic Gage Amplifier. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard for Digimatic output on the Marposs E4N Electronic Gage Amplifier. Make sure both the SmartCable gage interface and Marposs E4N Electronic Gage Amplifier are set for the same settings.
