Sends data to GageMux or similar devices Through the use of the Advanced Systems and Designs - ASDQMS FlashCable gage interface and GageMux USB, the RS-232 serial port on the Fowler Sylvac 54-931-300 Height Gage allows two-way communication between an external computer and the Hi-Cal 150 | 300 Electronic Height Gage.
The ASDQMS FlashCable gage interface is engineered to change the output on the Fowler Sylvac Hi-Cal Electronic Height Gage to an output in Digimatic format. The male connector on the Advanced Systems & Designs FlashCable gage interface connects directly to the 9-pin female connector on the Folwer Sylvac Hi-Cal Electronic Height Gage.
This FlashCable Digimatic gage interface is designed to work with GageMux or other similar devices that recognize the Mitutoyo Digimatic signal. When connected to the GageMux, the input port provides the power to the FlashCable gage interface. When using devices other than the GageMux please insure that pin 9 of the 10-pin connector provides a 5v DC supply to the FlashCable gage interface.
The LED on the FlashCable gage interface turns GREEN when it is connected properly. The LED turns RED when the data is being sent or a data request is requested.
The data transfer can be triggered using any of the following methods:
- Using the FCT button on the Fowler Sylvac Hi-Cal height Gage
- Using the Fowler Foot Pedal on the Electronic Height Gage
- Using 300-1S in-line handswitch
- Using a Footswitch on the FlashCable (not included)
- Using the Footswitch on the GageMux USB (or equivalent triggering method on similar devices
- Sending a gage read command from the computer to the GageMux USB.
A detailed operation manual is included with this ASDQMS FlashCable gage interface. The FlashCable gage interface is normally set to the to the default settings on the Hi-Cal Electronic Height Gage. Both the Fowler Sylvac Hi-Cal Electronic Height Gage and FlashCable gage interface must be set to same values.
