The Heidenhain ND 2100 Series is a digital readout system for performing single or multiple gage measurements using encoders or transducers during production or final inspection. Pressing the Send key on the Heidenhain GageChek ND2100 Series will transmit measurement data to a computer using this FlashCable gage interface.
This FlashCable gage interface is engineered to change the output on the Heidenhain GageChek ND 2100 Display to an output in Digimatic format. The 9-pin female connector on the Advanced Systems & Designs FlashCable connects directly to the male connector on the Heidenhain GageChek ND 2100 Series Display.
This FlashCable gage interface is designed to work with GageMux gage interface or other similar devices that recognize the Mitutoyo Digimatic signal. The FlashCable does not obtain any power from the gage but when connected to the GageMu, pin 9 of the 10-pin input port provides the power to the FlashCable gage interface. When using interface devices other than the GageMux USB gage interface, pin 9 of the 10-pin connector must provide a 5V DC supply to the FlashCable gage interface. The LED on the FlashCable turns GREEN when the FlashCable is connected properly. The LED turns RED when the data is being sent or a data request is triggered.
The data transfer can be triggered using any of the following methods:
- Using the data hot key or Send buttons on the Heidenhain GageChek ND 2100 Digital Display
- Sending a gage read command from the computer to the Heidenhain GageChek ND 2104 Display
Every FlashCable gage interface includes a detailed operation manual. The communication parameters can be changed to meet the requirements for both the FlashCable gage interface and the Heidenhain GageChek ND 2100 Series Digital Display. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the FlashCable to the default settings on the Heidenhain GageChek Display. Both the Heidenhain GageChek ND 2100 and FlashCable gage interface must be set to the same values.
