Send data to GageMux gage interface or other Digimatic input devicesThis Advanced Systems and Designs (ASDQMS) FlashCable gage interface is designed to convert the output on the Shimpo Tosok CEG2000 Columnar Electronic Micrometer to Digimatic format. The 9-pin RS232C male connector on the Advanced Systems & Designs FlashCable connects to a female RS232C connector on the CEG2000 Columnar Electronic Micrometer.
This FlashCable gage interface is engineered to work with GageMux multi-input interface or similar devices that recognize the Mitutoyo Digimatic signal. The FlashCable does not receive power from the Shimpo Tosok CEG2000 Columnar Electronic Micrometer.
Pin 9 of the 10-pin input port on the GageMux gage interface provides the power to this FlashCable gage interface. When using similar devices make sure pin 9 of the 10-pin connector provides 5V DC power to the FlashCable gage interface. The LED on the FlashCable is lit a solid GREEN when properly connected to a Digimatic signal. The LED flashes RED when a data request is triggered or data is sent from the FlashCable gage interface.
The data transfer can be triggered using any of the following methods:
- Using the ENT key on the Shimpo Tosok CEG2000 Columnar Electronic Micrometer
- Using the Footswitch on the GageMux USB or similar triggering method
- Using 300-1S in-line handswitch
- Using a Footswitch on the FlashCable (not included)
- Sending a gage read command from the computer to the CEG2000 Columnar Electronic Micrometer
A detailed operation manual is included with this FlashCable gage interface. The factory setting on the Advanced Systems & Designs FlashCable gage interface is the same as the default settings on the CEG2000 Columnar Electronic Micrometer. Both must be set to the same communication parameters. Refer to the Shimpo Tosok CEG2000 Columnar Electronic Micrometer instruction manual for more information on serial RS232C output communication.
