Send data directly to Excel - No Software Wedge RequiredThis Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the A&D EK-L Precision Bench Scale Balance to a computer. Connects the A & D Balance to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin female cable connector - no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the A&D EK-L Precision Bench Scale Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can Send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or Internet Explorer based SPC program - no complicated software wedge required. It is just like adding a second keyboard to your computer.
This SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the A&D EK-L Bench Scale Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard. Eliminate data collection errors! If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear. It is that easy.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
- Pressing the PRINT key on the A&D EK-L Precision Bench Scale Balance
- Pressing the button on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
A detailed operation manual is included with this ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard. At the factory Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the A&D EK-L Precision Bench Scale Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable and A&D Balance are set to the same communication values. Refer to the A&D EK-L Precision Bench Scale Balance instruction manual for more information on external communication.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
