The output of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Accurate Technology manufactures ProScale and other linear products based on capacitive encoding, or inductive encoding, technology. During their 20 plus year history they have developed many custom and application specific measuring products for woodworking as well as all industries in quality control markets. Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Accurate Technology ProScale or Mitutoyo SurfTest SJ-201P to be identified as a keyboard device that can Send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the Accurate Technology ProScale or Mitutoyo SurfTest SJ-201P digital readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and trigger a reading.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
- Pressing the Send button on the Accurate Technology ProScale.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different modes, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, right continuous reading, continuous reading with automatic 10, 15, or 30 second delay between readings, and others. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
