Ball Valves

A ball valve is a device for controlling the flow of the fluid using a hollow, perforated and pivoting ball for it. When is your ball valve open or closed? If the hole of the ball is in line with the flow inlet, the valve is open. When the ball’s hole is pivoted 90° by the valve handle, the valve is closed. The handle of the valve lies flat in alignment with the flow when the valve is open and perpendicular to the flow when the valve is closed. Ball valves are known for their long service life as well as durability. They are made of such materials as metal, plastic, etc.

There are various types of water valves with different features.

For instance, let’s figure out the difference between ball valves vs gate valves, they are considered to be among the most widely used valves in plumbing to control the fluid flow. As you already know, in a ball valve, a ball is rotated 90 degrees, whereas a gate valve is controlled by moving a gate up or down.

Now let’s consider ball valves vs globe valves. The difference lies in the way these devices close. A ball valve has a stem and a ball that rotates inside the valve. A globe valve has a stem and a disc in the valve. In addition to the on/off function, globe valves also can regulate the fluid flow.

On Prime Buy, choose from a wide range of ball valves for water. There are also ball valves for gas and more.
